A downloadable mod

UPDATE: Fixed a visual bug with the clothes. Update via extract and overwrite.

Adds peasants as a class! Simple, common folk, they may have little to offer to your guild, but they are quick to train... and might well be the only people you can get your hands during the early days. Comes with an appropriate set of clothes and a few varieties of spears. The idea is to emulate Xcom recruits, but it can also be thought of as a NG+ hard mode, especially if you enable Random Adventurers...

The Base and Only Peasants version also add class symbols that you can unlock and upgrade. These symbols enable your peasants to use the abilities of other classes making them a lot more versaitile in longer playthroughs. Although using them somewhat messes with the mind of your peasants...

A quick rundown of the differences between downloads:

  • Lite version 1.4: Peasant is just another class. They'll show up in the stagecoach. They're weak but you get a neat and unique permanent bonus for clearing that job. Can be installed and uninstalled anytime. Doesn't include the class symbols.
  • Ye Poor Peasant Base version: Peasants are the only class that shows up in the stagecoach until you finish the quest for them (have a peasant reach adept level), at which point you can switch to other classes. To recruit other classes at the stagecoach, you will also need to complete the first quest for that class (have class x reach veteran level). Requires a new game to function.
  • Ye Poor Peasant Patches: This is an addition to the Baseversion to make it compatible with mods. Modded classes don't get immediatly unlocked by getting an Adept Peasant. Instead you have to ask in a certain tavern about info about that class once you obtained an adept peasant. You need to patch the peasant mod by pasting the folders from the patch folder into the Data-folder of the Peasant Base mod. Doesn't work with Lite version. Only use patches for mods that you have actually installed. Requires a new game to function.
  • Ye Poor Peasant - Only Peasant recruits version: Peasants are the only class that shows up in the stagecoach. You can not recruit other classes - the only way to get them is via class-changing. This is the hardest version of the mod. Requires a new game to function.
  • Ye Poor Peasant - Only Peasant recruits Patches: If you use the  Only Peasant recruits version - use these patches instead of the other ones. Installation works the same way. Instead of completly unlocking the class, you will only get the symbol and enable changing to the class. There are additional patches for mods that unlock recruitment via classes in this package. Requires a new game to function.
  • Peasant Pauper Legacy: Should work for pre-modbreaker versions of the game. Does  not contain any of my additions like mod-support or class symbols.
  • Requires a new game to function.

(Instead of starting a new game you can also edit the save file in the %APPDATA%-folder. In the saves folder, find your most current auto-save, open in editor and search "recruit" - you'll find a list of recruitable classes. Delete all non-peasant-entries. However if you already finished the class quest of a base game class, you'll have to use the console in the noble version of the game to cheat to get the class symbol for that class or edit your save files inventory: the ID is always "symbol_of_the_classname".)
